AIMCEA — All India MES Civil Engineers Association

Last updated: 11 June 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the All India MES Civil Engineers Association ("AIMCEA", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website (aimcea.org.in) and our official AIMCEA mobile application (the "App"), collectively the "Services".

1. Information We Collect

When you register for a member account, we collect:

  • Name, email address, and a unique MES ID
  • Date of birth, gender, and marital status (and date of marriage, if applicable)
  • Designation, area, unit, and posting region
  • Postal address and phone number
  • Account password (stored in encrypted/hashed form — we never store plain-text passwords)

When you submit a grievance, query, or feedback form, we additionally collect:

  • Your name, MES number, phone number, email, region, and message text
  • An optional supporting document or image attachment (PDF, Word, JPG, PNG, or text file, up to 10 MB)

We do not collect precise location data, contacts, camera, or microphone access from the App. The App requests only internet access to communicate with our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your member account, and verify your eligibility as a serving or retired MES civil engineer
  • To approve membership status so you can access circulars, policies, and other restricted downloads
  • To process and respond to grievances, queries, and feedback submitted through the Services
  • To send essential account emails, such as email verification and password-reset links
  • To display non-sensitive directory information (e.g. regional office bearers, team members) where you have been added as a representative by an administrator

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

3. Data Storage & Security

  • All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
  • On the mobile App, your login session token is stored using the device's secure, encrypted keystore (Android EncryptedSharedPreferences) — never in plain text.
  • Access to member records and uploaded documents is restricted to authorised AIMCEA administrators and validators.
  • Account approval status (pending / approved / rejected) controls who can download protected documents.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not share your personal information with third-party advertisers or data brokers. Information may only be disclosed:

  • To AIMCEA office bearers and administrators for membership verification and grievance redressal
  • If required by law, regulation, or a valid request from a government or judicial authority

5. Your Rights & Choices

  • You can view and update most profile details (address, phone, date of birth, marital status, designation, unit, region) directly from your profile page or the App.
  • Changes to your name, email, or MES ID require admin approval and are logged for audit purposes.
  • You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us using the details below.
  • You can browse public content (downloads, team, gallery, links) without creating an account; an account is only required to download protected files or submit grievances under your name.

6. Data Retention

We retain account information for as long as your membership record remains active, and grievance records for audit and record-keeping purposes consistent with the Association's administrative practices. You may request earlier deletion as described above.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services are intended for serving and retired MES civil engineers and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.

9. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise any of the rights described above, please contact us via the details on our Contact page or through the Grievances / Query form.
